What to Expect

When you visit Potomac Heights Baptist Church, you should expect:

  • to hear the good news that Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God who died on the cross, in your place, to save you from the consequences of your sin, and that by repentance of sins and belief in his name you may be reconciled to God and have life everlasting
  • to be warmly welcomed and loved no matter who you are, where you are from, or what you are wearing
  • to hear about how you can plug into the life at the PHBC, including small groups, discipleship opportunities, and special events

COVID-19 Policy

Due to the current COVID-19 pandemic, all members and guests are required to wear a mask while they are inside the building. The only exception for this is the preacher while he is preaching from a socially-distanced pulpit. We also encourage appropriate social distancing, and we have our chairs set up in family pods. We also have several hand disinfection stations throughout our buildings. We want to make sure that your experience with us is a safe experience.

First time at PHBC

When you come in the door, expect to be welcomed with a smile. A member of our greeter team will help you get acclimated with the church. If you have children, someone will show you to our children's (preschool, elementary, middle, and high school) ministry areas.

If you would like to attend a Sunday small group (9:00am), we'll tell you about the available options and show you to your room. If you plan on attending worship (10:30am), the greeter will help you find a seat in our worship center.

Worship at PHBC

We make no apologies for our worship services being for Jesus and about Jesus.

The preaching ministry of our Lead Pastor Brian Sandifer is simple: we walk word by word and line by line through the Bible, understanding it as God’s final revelation to us and the authoritative source of teaching for every inch of our lives. We believe nothing is more relevant than the Word of God. If you would like hear some samples of Pastor Brian’s preaching, check it out here.

We really want your experience at PHBC to be a positive one. Not because we want you to think much of us, but because we want you to think much of Jesus Christ. Our purpose is making him known to the ends of the earth by helping one another to become more like Jesus. If we can serve you in any way, please contact us.
