The deacons of PHBC fill supportive roles as they coordinate various ministries that relate to the physical needs of the congregation. As those who free the elders to provide spiritual oversight to the church, the deacons help oversee various church ministries (e.g. benevolence).

Potential deacons are nominated by the congregation, interviewed by the current elders and deacons and then voted on by the congregation before beginning their period of service.
